Help4Wales Foundation won the Social Enterprise of the Year Award, kindly sponsored by WCVA. We caught up with them after their win to find out a bit more:

1.) How did it feel to win a Wales Start-Up-Award?

We were extremely grateful to win this award, it really meant a lot to myself and the team.

2.) How did you find the experience of the Awards night?

We loved the awards night; the street food was a great way to eat before the event. We loved how it had a great friendly and informal feel.

3.) How do you strive to make a difference in the Welsh business market?

We plan to continue expanding our service supporting those most in need. We have plans to expand to North Wales within two years allowing us to work around Wales.

4.) What are your goals for the next 12 months?

We would like to open another shop in another community, offering volunteer opportunities and discounted clothing and household items. This is in order to increase the number of animals we foster allowing us to support more individuals/families needing to access vital services.

5.) What is the biggest lesson you have learned in the first year of your start-up business?

The importance to having a good supportive team that will help the organisation grow.

6.) What one piece of advice would you give to any aspiring entrepreneurs?

Keep going…There will be many ups and downs, it will be a roller coaster of a journey but keep going and know it is all worth it especially for us as we see the rewards from helping individuals and families in Wales.
